A few months ago Lifestyle Barcelona helped a very well known Multi-national events company with the organizing and staffing of a huge corporate event in Barcelona. That event went so well that the next time they were in town they called upon our services to help with the staffing of another massive event, this time at the well known Hotel Arts, a fantastic 5* hotel located right on the beach at Port Olimpic. The clients were a very large law firm with offices all over the world and to coincide with this the agency involved invented a very unique team-building game that involved the clients ‘circumventing the world, completing challenges that were directly linked to each continent as they went’. Last Friday afternoon saw the inauguration of the Lifestyle Barcelona Go Kart Challenge. The afternoon commenced with the whole team piling into two cars and heading of to the track. On arrival we were duly briefed about the track, qualifying and the impending race. Japanese multinational company Sony has opened in Barcelona its second European Sony Style store, a new concept in consumer electronics. The company has set up the store in the traditional Rambla de Catalunya in Barcelona, where it will offer the latest in technology in 700 square meters of space. Sony has invested two million euros in the new store that will provide work to 21 people.The Sony Style store is a “business experience” that the Japanese multinational has already established in cities such as Hong Kong, Buenos Aires or Berlin. The goal is to offer an open space where people can see, touch and use the whole range of Sony products. The Sony Style also acts as a lab to find new ways to exhibit electronic products.
Sony has its Spanish headquarters in Catalonia, with a team of 400 people. The company also has a distribution center in Castellar del Vallès and the Barcelona Technology Center in Viladecans, with a workforce of 2,500 people.

The EIBTM, the annual global meetings and incentive exhibition held in Barcelona, has extended the agreement with Fira de Barcelona to be the host city and venue for EIBTM for the next five years. The new contract will start running in 2009 until 2013.Reed Travel Exhibitions Chairman Tom Nutley said that Barcelona offers excellent infrastructure, quality hotels, good transportation and a very professional team. The EIBTM has been present in Barcelona since 2004. The current edition, which has just ended, received more than 15,000 visitors.

The SITE report claims that in the future Barcelona will continue to head the list of the European members.SITE is an international non-profit-making society with 2.100 members from 87 countries.
