Need for speed?! Formula 1 driving!

Action Stuff, Every Day Living, New Experiences No Comments

Last weekend was Barcelona’s Formula1 Gran Prix weekend so I thought I’d share my recent driving experience with you! I attended the Formula 1 driving event and I had a chance to try out some driving activities provided by our company…”Some” maybe is the wrong word here as it was a real Palmer Jaguar JP1!! I wasn’t actually driving the car by myself but I was co-piloting. Well, I guess it doesn’t really matter that much…because the experience was absolutely amazing! It was at the Formula 1 circuit in Calafat. Steaming sunshine, extreme speed and the smell of burning tires – unforgettable!! Personally, I love driving, but I was never really into fast cars that much so I am quite a novice to racing. I so much enjoyed the drive! Even not driving by myself gave me so much adrenaline and pleasure! For sure some of you have tried Go-Karting already, so you have an impression of fast racing cars, but driving a “real” sports car is an entirely different and more challenging experience…You wear professional uniforms, the F1 cars are bigger, faster, and you are in the setting of a real circuit. Even if you aren’t one of these speed fanatics, it’s certainly great to try it once in the lifetime!

Last month we had some fun with a group of bankers, corporate lawyers, and consultants from the UK. the group who were all childhood friends had one request… the best that Barcelona has to offer!! We accepted the challenge with relish and put together a program of top restaurants, VIP entry into some of the top clubs in Barcelona, a luxury spa morning and the Barcelona Luxury Car Experience.

At a pre-agreed, time we arranged for a fleet of cars including an Aston Martin DB7, A Maserati, Ferrari Modena, Mercedes 500 SL and my favourite the classic Morgan, to be waiting outside their hotel (Hotel Claris) to take them on a tour of Barcelona followed by a scenic drive along the coastline and through the hills of Garraf to an exclusive strip of Bars in Sitges.

The night went on till 7am in the morning… but that is another story….

Did you Watch The Gadget Show!!!

Action Stuff No Comments

Remember we told you in an earlier Blog that the Gadget Show UK contacted us to organise a bridge jump for them in Barcelona? Well, for those of you who did not see it, heres the link of the clip of the day the two intrepid presenters tried jumping off a bridge in the name of technology!!!

Bridge Jumping (or puenting as it is known here) has become very popular in Barcelona… don’t ask me why but it is the next step up from bungee jumping, perhaps its the pendular motion of the swing, perhaps its the pure Catalan country air, or perhaps is just plain madness. Whatever it is, it has been one of our most popular experiences with the locals this year. Now the visitors are starting to take up the craze.. Cliff Palmer from the UK came over to Barcelona with a bunch of his mates to celebrate a stag weekend with a difference far from the raunchy beer fests that some people associate with stag dos, this lot literally took it to the bridge. Highly recommended for the adrenaline junkies!!
