San Miguel Mas i Mas Festival
When: Thursday 1st of September – still to be confirmed
Where: Palau de la Musica Catalana
After more than a month, it is time to close the San Miguel summer festival. It all started with Latin sounds but has now broadened to offer a little bit of everything: from classical music to flamenco, from R&B to Jazz or Electronic. With its graffiti exhibitions, dance competitions, and promising line-ups, Hiptonic is a must-go for all hip-hop lovers. The urban festival lasts for more than 12 hours. Click here for more information or tickets.
When: Week from 24th of September
Where: Mercat de les Flors, Parc de la Ciutadella and other venues
This yearly event, which lasts 7 days, is the biggest one in Barcelona. It has dragons, giants, capgrosses and more than 600 events! Highlights include free concerts, fireworks, sporting events, an air show and activities for children. During this week there will also be an Asian Festival with many free shows and activities. Like the name it already says, this week is all about Asia. With stalls from over 15 Asian countries to show people their cultural richness and diversity. Furthermore during La Mercè, will also be the BAM Festival which features free concerts at different venues in the city. They often showcase Jazz and Singer-Songwriters but also famous names. Wine and Cava tasting from Catalunya
When: Saturday 24th of September
Where: Passeig de Lluis Companys, Cituat Vella
Also during the Festes de la Merce, an outdoor wine and cava fair will take place. Besides more than 400 different labels, there will also be fine cheeses and charcuterie.
Festa Major de la Barceloneta
When: Late September and early October
From the moment fireworks are shot off on the beach, the party can start! Barceloneta hosts an incredible week with music, acrobatic groups, dancing, free tasting of traditional bread, a 24-hour football tournament, fire-breathing dragons, an open-air cinema, bouncy castles and sweets flying through the air.
