As the Barcelona winter arrives, how about a nice and warm cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate during these cold days? We have been searching the city for some of the most interesting cafés in Barcelona and found some we think are worth visiting when you are here.

Bar Velódromo

This is a classic bar and restaurant with amazing opening hours.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA There are only 3 hours during the night, between 03:00 and 06:00, when it is closed. This place is really popular for its Spanish breakfast, but you should go there to try the traditional Tallat. This is an espresso cut with steamed milk and it is a traditional Catalan way to drink your coffee. So go enjoy the classic décor of Velódromo and the Catalan traditions.

Pudding 2!! Pudding

Enter Wonderland together with Alice and have a drink with the Mad Hatter. This is what it feels like when you enter Pudding. As soon as you walk in you see the most delicious pies, muffins, brownies and sandwiches displayed at the counter. You will get hungry as soon as you lay your eyes on this. Take place in one of the armchairs and enjoy your coffee and a little bit of sweet next to it.

La Queixalada d´en Marcelino

Outside of the centre of Barcelona you will find this restaurant/cafeQueixalada coffees!!! which has been owned by the same family for 3 generations. The food they serve here is simple, traditional and not expensive, but most of the people come to this place for the coffee. They do not just serve coffee, they serve coffee art. The familiar atmosphere in this bar coincides perfectly with the décor, which is simple, but perfect for this place. One disadvantage about La Queixalada d´en Marcelino is that it is located outside of Barcelona´s centre and it takes around 15 minutes to get there by metro, from Plaza Catalunya.

                                                         Lilipep

Lilipep inside out!!In the El Born neighborhood you always find a lot of small streets and in one of those you might see Café Lilipep tucked away in a corner. This place is owned by a German-Catalan couple and they are very popular due to their serving of the German breakfast. Lilipep is a small bar where you can choose to sit at a table or go to the second floor and lie on a sofa. The café offers different books to read, which are also for sale. If you are ever in the neighborhood you should not pass Lilipep by.

Cafés El Magnífico

If you are looking for a place to get a great cup of coffee to go, this is it! El MagnificoCafés El Magnífico is a coffee bar as well as a store that sells coffee beans and tea leaves. Due to this they do not offer many seating options and that is why they have such good coffee to go. And since the store is located in the El Born neighborhood you only have to walk short distances to drink your coffee some place interesting. Like the Basilica Santa Maria Del Mar or Mercat Del Born.

We hope you will enjoy these cafés just as much as we did!
