This year we visited one of our longest standing partners in the Costa Brava. We have been offering scuba diving for almost 10 years with the same company and we thought it was time to pay them another visit to say hi and ensure that we are always offering the best experiences at all times. We decided to go with some members of the Lifestyle Team who were extremely excited about this opportunity and, on a warm Sunday morning, with big smiles on our faces we left Barcelona and headed towards the diving centre.
Antoni, the instructor, kindly greeted us on the arrival and assured that the water today is fantastic. We sat down to listen to a short presentation about the safety under the water and basic skills required in order to do the activity. It is actually surprising how many people want to do scuba diving without knowing how to swim. From my experience I can tell, for sure, that it is absolutely necessary.
From theory to practice. We got our wetsuits, scubas, masks and swim fins on and jumped to the pool. There, each of us got to try out how it feels to carry 10kg heavy equipment and rely on it under the sea. I personally felt much more confident after this tryout.
After the pool exercise, our team was ready to hop into the car and go to the beach. As soon as we saw the water, all of us noticed how clean and bright it was. Many of the fish were swimming right in the harbor. We packed the boat and started our journey. Once we dropped the anchor, Antoni helped us getting the scubas on and everything was ready for the “wow” experience.
Adapting to the life of sea creatures took a few minutes, after which we were already posing in front of the camera. During the dive we saw stunning fish and reefs and could feel the sea life. It was definitely one of the most breathtaking, not literally, moments in my life. Transferring yourself into another life form and different ecosystem is a marvel experience, indeed. We want to thank Antoni for introducing us to the scuba diving experience.
